Branding Project Manager (6 month contract) Background: An exciting opportunity for an experienced brand manager to lead an internal audit and oversee the brand refresh for a leading UK research organisation. Fusion energy promises to be a safe, low carbon and sustainable part of the world's future energy supply. The UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) is the national fusion research organisation, headquartered at Culham Campus in Oxfordshire with other sites in South Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire and Cumbria. After a period of rapid growth in UKAEA's fusion research and development capabilities, UKAEA is embarking on a brand refresh to align with the organisation's restructure. It will also be an opportunity for a new look to accentuate its status as a global leader in fusion energy research and development to key stakeholders and the general public. The Branding Project Manager will have a proven track record of managing rebrand or brand refresh initiatives through to successful launch. This role is critical in providing day-to-day leadership and oversight of the brand refresh implementation project, which is approaching the end of the completion of its design, development and approval stages. You will develop the brand strategy and guidelines to ensure a cohesive and consistent implementation, deliver a comprehensive implementation plan, working with both internal and external stakeholders, and collaborate across multiple directorates and UKAEA's physical sites to ensure seamless execution. The successful individual will ensure the brand refresh is executed effectively, reflecting UKAEA's mission and values while meeting the highest standards. Key responsibilities: Conduct a brand inventory review, identifying all physical and digital branded assets to be covered by the refresh. Provide day-to-day management and leadership for the brand refresh implementation project. Ensure the project progresses on time and to budget and meets agreed objectives. Finalise the brand strategy document for consistent implementation to align with UKAEA's organisational goals. This includes consistency across all touch points. Coordinate the project stakeholders and communicate the project's vision. This includes engaging and collaborating with internal stakeholders across multiple directorates and managing relationships with external suppliers. Develop a detailed brand implementation plan and oversee brand rollout across UKAEA's physical sites and communications channels. Track project deliverables using appropriate tools, and constantly monitor and present reports on project progress, quality assurance, problems and solutions to all stakeholders. Deliver the implementation of all areas within the plan to cover all UKAEA branded assets - from online to clothing, signage and other printed material - and of the branding guidelines. Be accountable for ensuring delivery on time and within budget, reporting regularly to the Head of External Communications. Work closely with the Head of Stakeholder Engagement and internal communications team to inform, engage and train the UKAEA workforce, successfully embedding the brand refresh across the organisation. Requirements Proven experience in managing rebrands, brand refresh or similar large scale visual identity branding projects with examples to demonstrate. Minimum 8 years' track record of applied project management experience, preferably including managing branding implementation projects and cross-functional teams; (Project Management professional certification, preferred). Degree or professional qualification in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field. Excellent inter-personal skills - strong relationship management, project management, negotiation and collaboration skills and the ability to work with colleagues at all levels including executives. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience facilitating meetings to obtain business requirements, functional specifications, and to achieve objectives. Ability to work independently, under pressure, and with minimal guidance, maintaining composure and professionalism at all times in a fast-paced environment. * Fluent in MS Project or similar software.
